Abstract

Background: Adolescent patients in terms of age are known to have the highest average level of anxiety among early, middle and late adults in dental treatment, especially for those who are doing dental treatment for the first time, especially in dental fillings. There are various ways to treat anxiety, one of which is by using relaxation therapy, namely using vanilla aromatherapy. Objective: To analyze the effect reed diffuser on the anxiety level of adolescent patients in dental fillings during the Covid-19 at the dental clinic of Jatibening Village, Bekasi City. Methods: research Quasy experimental design with non-randomizer control group pretest and posttest design. This type of research is accidental sampling and the analytical test used is the Wilcoxon because the results of normality test are not normally distributed in 120 adolescent patients with 60 experimental and control groups each.anxiety measuring instrument Face Image Scale Results: Most of the adolescent research respondents had a high level of anxiety in the category of very anxious as many as 44 people (36.7%). The results of the study that the level of anxiety in the experimental group which was categorized as very anxious from 29 people (48.3%) experienced a very significant decrease to 0 (0%). The results of the statistical test showed a p-value of 0.00 < 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is an effect reed diffuser on the anxiety level of adolescent patients in dental fillings during the Covid-19 at the dental clinic of Jatibening Village, Bekasi City.
