Abstract

Bioprosthetic surgical aortic valve replacements are now the most commonly used prostheses for patients over 55. Re-do sternotomy and the use of cardiopulmonary bypass comes with greater risks than the initial procedure and transcatheter aortic valve-in-valve replacement (ViV TAVI) has become a viable alternative to surgical re-do aortic valve replacement.
