Abstract
Background and Aims : Background: SLE is a chronic autoimmune inflammatory rheumatological disease. Characterized by autoantibodies directed against nuclear antigens. It is a disease of young women, with a peak incidence between the ages of 15 and 40 with a female: male ratio of 9:1. Cardiac involvement in patients with SLE is common. Subclinical involvement is more common than Clinically apparent cardiomyopathy or myocarditis Aim: Assess LV function in asymptomatic SLE patients by conventional, speckle tracking and tissue Doppler echocardiography.
