Abstract

This paper presents evaluation results from using second order sliding mode observer FDI schemes on the ADDSAFE Functional Engineering Simulator. This has provided fault detection and isolation design verification and performance assessment in preparation for the industrial evaluation in DEIMOS. This paper presents design verifications for three ADDSAFE benchmark problems: one sensor fault scenario and two actuator fault scenarios. The performance of each of the FDD schemes is assessed using the FES's pseudo-Monte-Carlo setup, where a predetermined grid or sequence is used to cover a wide range of flight conditions and perturbations in the aircraft parameters. Detection logic and statistical assessment for the three FDD schemes are presented.
