Abstract
In this study, the laser damage analysis model for metallic materials was applied to non-metallic materials. The analysis results showed that the damage levels of germanium and silicon were relatively lower compared to the experimental results. It is suggested that crack and crater formation increased the absorption coefficient and structural changes due to thermal stress contributed to the observed damage.
