Abstract

This paper presents a new design of ultra-wideband (UWB) circular monopole antenna with reconfigurable bands rejection. The proposed approach is based on loading dual pairs of Split Ring Resonator (SRR) and Rectangular Spiral Resonator (RSR) on the CPW fed monopole antenna. According to the ON/OFF PIN diode states, a notch band is created in the UWB antenna. The proposed antenna was successfully designed and simulated using Ansoft HFSS. The simulated results showed good results in terms of reconfigurability in several rejection bands. This reconfigurable UWB antenna is suitable for isolation with coexistences narrowband standards (WIFI, WIMAX and satellite service) in wireless communication systems.
