Abstract
The onboard wireless communication in an airplane is very attractive for it can provide data, audio and video services very conveniently. Because many radio equipments should be powered down in the airplane, the available frequency band for broadband communication is very wide. The frequency used in the airplane should be carefully allocated so that the onboard communication system does not affect the navigation systems. Besides, the outband spur emission should be suppressed to a sufficient level in the frequency band of the navigation systems. Generally, the spur suppression can be realized by good system schemes, high performance filters, multiple frequency notched wide band antennas, etc. In this paper, the recent advance in the design and development of ultra wideband (UWB) antennas with multiple frequency notched bands for onboard communications in SKLMMW is reviewed.
