Abstract

In this paper, various design techniques are investigated for the design of reconfigurable Ultra Wide Band (UWB) antenna with frequency notching characteristics. UWB is emerging as an inevitable technology in wireless communication due its salient features such as wide bandwidth, low transmit power, accurate positioning, material penetration etc. The main challenges of UWB is interference with other wireless standards hence reconfiguration and frequency notching becomes very essential in the design of UWB antenna. The evolution in the design of UWB antenna with reconfigurable and frequency notching characteristics is completely analyzed and discussed in this paper.
