Abstract

Waste spent alumina catalyst consisting of various types of metals, metal oxide, sulfides others valuable products. After use, solid waste becomes solid waste and plays an essential role in petroleum refining of alternative fuels and several other important things. The spent catalysts abandoned throughhydro processingconstitute a major part of these recyclable materials in many crude oil industries. The disposal of the spent alumina catalyst means dealing with stringent environmental legislation due to its toxic nature and harmful substance content. In order to deal with the existential pollution of spent catalysts, various solutions must be discussed, such as decreasing the amount of spent catalyst waste by reuse and recycling, recovery of metals, used for the manufacturing of valuable materials and treatment for safe disposal. This paper summarizes in depth the relevant information in the publications on minimizing spent alumina catalyst recyclables through the use of modified, more productive, more durable catalysts, multi-cycle processing, recycle of retrieved catalysts, and, based on recent advances.
