Abstract

ICT is one of the important keys to transforming villages into smart. The existing condition of ICT development in Indonesia shows that almost half of villages have been connected to telecommunications services including 4G network. This is a good potential for utilizing ICT for village development in Indonesia. Therefore, this study aims to formulate ICT indicators in building a smart village model in Indonesia and formulate strategies in utilizing ICT for village development in Indonesia. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach and used documentation studies to collect data. While for data analysis this study used interactive analysis techniques. The results showed that ICT is one of the variables of the appropriate technology dimension in the smart village model. The ICT variable has nine indicators which are classified into three groups of indicators, namely (1) ICT infrastructure, (2) ICT literacy and (3) ICT services. The strategy for utilizing ICT in developing smart villages in Indonesia includes four basic strategies where collaboration is the main key to success.
