Abstract
Summary Objective The aim of this study is to discuss the efficiency of the use of topic fortified antibiotic eye drops in the treatment of endophtalmitis in vitrectomised eyes. Observations We report the observation of two patients who developed endophtalmitis after an endo-ocular surgery (vitrectomy). For these patients, topic fortified antibiotic eye drops and systemic antibiotherapy were prescribed. Both patients recovered relatively good vision. Discussion Treatment of postoperative endophtalmitis is still discussed especially for vitrectomised eyes. Fortified antibiotic eye drops may be a solution. Conclusion Fortified antibiotic eye drops can be efficiently used in endophtalmitis postvitrectomy. Other studies are recommended in order to confirm this conclusion.
