Abstract

Recent advances such as video and audio conferencing, online real-time chat and instant messaging features have created synchronous learning opportunities in online classrooms. Use of screen recording tools specifically, provide the ability to make short recordings, which provide a quick and personal way to respond to individuals or groups. Additionally, when utilized for feedback purposes, screen recordings enhance instructor presence in the classroom, provide one-to-one, teacher-student exchanges reducing the virtual distance between instructors and students.
