Abstract

Educators are urging that multiculturalism and mutiethnic education be incorporated into every aspect of the curriculum and that pluralism, diversity, and gender awareness be a part of all aspects of higher education. For experienced teachers and administrators multicultural education workshops, seminars, and conferences often are required periodically bo local school districts and state education departments. To meet this need, the author has developed seminars for educators. These offerings focus on the implementation of multicultural education; a central feature is the use of museums, their exhibits, and their outreach programs. This article describes on-campus seminars and specialized travel seminars featuring the use of museums.
