Abstract

Abstract During these last years, the problem of modelling production systems has received considerable attention. The standard tools generally used are queuing networks, Petri nets or Markov chains. The aim of this paper is to show that it is possible to use the bond graph formalism to model such systems, and especially machine failures which can occur during their functioning. This tool allows a clear graphical representation, a study of the properties of the system from the bond graph structure, and finally a dynamic description by a state equation.
