Abstract

The previous book, The re-emergence of values in science education (Corrigan, D., Dillon, J., Gunstone, R. (2007). The re-emergence of values in science education. Rotterdam, The Netherlands: Sense Publishers), highlighted the potential of biotechnology to provide useful contexts for exploring values in school science. In this chapter, we consider the wide variety of resources available to support students to develop their values discourse through learning about biotechnology contexts. We also introduce two scaffolds to support students to develop their ethical and futures thinking skills.
