User gratification with NMIMS (Deemed to be University) Prof Y.K. Bhushan information and knowledge resource centre resources and services, Mumbai, India: An academic students perspectives

Abstract

The main function of any academic library and information centre is to fulfil the needs of the users and achieve goals and objectives of the parent organisation. Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) is one the renowned deemed to be a university in India. The management is investing crores of rupees in library resources every year. It is the prime responsibility of the library and information science professionals to evaluate library sources and services at regular intervals to get a better return on investment and depends on their feedback improve the library services and resources. The present study explores the students’ feedback with reference to library sources and services of Prof. Y.K. Bhushan Information and Knowledge Resource Centre, Mumbai. The study used a well-designed questionnaire to collect data from the students. Purpose of this study is to analyse the user's awareness and usage of library various resources and services available in the Prof. Y.K. Bhushan Information and Knowledge Resource Centre and recommend suggestions to improve the usage and awareness among the student community.
