Abstract
This study is aimed at the students of the first-year Chinese language course, using the poor theater design teaching activities. In the unit teaching, the relevant literature Zuo-Zhuan records the duke of Jin-wengong run away was selected as the reading comprehension book. With two classes of similar level, class A uses the traditional language reading teaching by teachers, class B students use finds information by themselves, finally the two classes of students compare the teaching effectiveness. Through this study, it is found that by participating in the drama performance of the poor theatre, for the two classes of students, there is a significant improvement in reading comprehension of the promotion of classical Chinese and class A is higher than class B. Students in the two classes have significant differences in their understanding of classical Chinese. The correctness of the reading comprehension of classical Chinese is also class A significantly higher than class B. In other words, compared to the students looking for information on their own, it is better to use teacher to lead the students to read the classical Chinese texts in order to understand the effect of classical Chinese. So with different ways of class, not only can students improve reading comprehension, it can enhance the interest in reading classical Chinese.
