Abstract

The noninvasive technique of laser Doppler anemometry is briefly reviewed and its application in the assessment of tissue viability described. Calibration studies using the model of controlled skin burns in rats are presented and discussed. A correlation between the damage of burned tissue and the anemometry readings has been established.
