Abstract

Communicating is important in human life. Life will go well if there is a good communication process. The way to communicate indirectly is far easier and more practical than before. All the fast and indirect means of communicating are increasingly diverse. However, with the ease of communication in the process the user becomes unaware of the vocabulary they use when communicating so that it can cause ambiguity and discomfort to the interlocutor. Habits carried out by humans in the process of communicating indirectly are using abbreviated language. One of them in communicating indirectly through online chat media in the LINE application. LINE is an instant messaging application and uses the internet network. The researcher will analyze in detail how the process of abbreviating languages or abbreviations in this article uses the theory of Abdul Chaer and will use morphological and semantic studies. The results obtained from this study are in the form of data that abbreviates language is a common thing in the process of communicating indirectly through the LINE application.
