Abstract
Assigning the acute esophagitis grade can be complicated because of pre-existing or other conditions with similar symptoms, and inter-physician differences. We examine whether CT imaging can overcome these pitfalls and provide data on the spatial distribution of radiation-induced injury to the esophagus. This spatial-toxicity data would be useful when evaluating esophageal-sparing treatment planning techniques.
