Abstract

1. Chromel-Alumel thermocouples made from thermoelectrode materials whose inhomogeneity is within the limit of the standard can be recommended for measuring temperature varying at a rate of 35–46 deg/sec in the range from -196 to 900°. 2. When using Chromel-Alumel thermocouples under the indicated conditions their preliminary thermal cycling is necessary with subsequent rejection of those whose reading error exceeds that permitted by GOST. 3. Instability of the thermocouple readings appearing in the first or second cycles decreases thereafter, and the accuracy of measuring the temperature increases and is within the limits corresponding to GOST 304477 [5].
