The Covid-19 outbreak has also led to significant changes in football, such as the suspension of leagues, isolation, and the fact that football players are forced to train on their own. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to determine if there were differences in the level of preparation, practices, and motivation for athletic training among young professional football players during the Covid-19 pandemic, depending on the level of competition. The sample of respondents consisted of 82 young football players from Bosnia and Herzegovina, divided into the first league group (n=47, 18.30±0.62 age) and the second league group (n=35, 17.66±0.73 age). The questionnaire for sports preparation and training (SPEQ) was used, which consists of 11 items and was created according to the existing questionnaire for self-assessment of the level of preparation and type of training of athletes during the training process in the Covid-19 pandemic. Also, a questionnaire on sports motivation during the Covid-19 pandemic was used, consisting of 18 items related to motivation to participate in sports, modified according to the Participation Motivation Questionnaire (PMQ). A five-point Likert scale was used for the questionnaire. The questionnaire was available in electronic form and was sent to the football players through a Google form. The difference was found only in the frequency of the type of exercise in two variables, while there were no differences between the groups of young football players in the other variables of training frequency, level of preparation, and motivation in sports training. It was also established that despite the Covid-19 situation, the motivation for sports training among young football players was at a very high level.

In 2020, preschool teachers to college professors to workforce trainers are researching best practices for learning at distance in response to the COVID-19 school closings. Educators are faced with the unexpected challenge of delivering distance learning as the primary mode of instruction due to the Coronavirus pandemic. An outbreak of Covid-19 has dramatically impacted the way people live, work, and interact on a global level over the past few years. This article looks at the field of education and the radical changes it is experiencing due to the need to digitally transform education and training processes in record time with academics who lack the technical skills needed for online teaching. Moreover, we will discuss the challenges and solutions within the COVID-19 pandemic transition. Our study focused on the three campuses (Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint) of the University of Michigan. The discussion and conclusion provide valuable insights into the digitalization of education.

  • Ibrahim Arpaci + 3 more

The lockdowns and curfews during the COVID-19 pandemic have halted economic and transportation activities across the world. This study aims to investigate air pollution levels in the Marmara region, particularly in Istanbul, before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study used real data provided by the General Directorate of Meteorology and applied three machine learning algorithms (ANN, RBFreg, and SMOreg) to analyze air pollution data. In addition, a one-sample t-test was performed to compare air pollution levels before and during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Marmara region and Istanbul. The results of the study showed a significant reduction in the particulate matter (PM) value, which indicates the degree of air pollution, in both the Marmara region and Istanbul during the COVID-19 pandemic. The one-sample t-test results showed that the reduction in air pollution levels was statistically significant in both areas (t = 11.45, p < .001 for the Marmara region, and t = 3.188, p < .001 for Istanbul). These findings have important practical implications for decision-makers planning for a more sustainable environment. Overall, the study provides valuable insights into the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on air pollution levels in the Marmara region, particularly in Istanbul. The application of machine learning algorithms and statistical analysis provides a rigorous approach to the investigation of this important issue by comparing before and during the COVID-19 outbreak.

The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) outbreak has not only had severe social and economic effect but also has substantially affected the lifestyles of individuals As the coronavirus pandemic rips through the world, many countries have implemented series of restrictions to control infection, such as the wearing of masks outside, social distancing, home isolation, home quarantine, group quarantine, and lockdowns, and these measures have inevitably limited physical activity and required more sedentary behavior How a person can remain physically active and healthy during the COVID-19 pandemic is a crucial issue The following procedure was implemented to review evidence regarding the COVID-19 outbreak and physical activity First, the latest physical activity guidelines released by the United States, United Kingdom, and World Health Organization were reviewed, and the prevalence of insufficient physical activity was determined Second, the effects of the COVID-19 outbreak on physical activity and amount of sedentary behavior were discussed using the obtained evidence Finally, the current review suggests the following for individuals wishing to remain physically active and healthy: (1) Some physical activity is preferable to nothing Engaging in some moderate-intensity physical activity, such as at least 4,000-5,000 steps per day (7,000-8,000 is better) at a pace of 100-130 steps per minute and resistance training twice a week to improve major muscle-group strength, is essential for everyone (2) Daily sedentary time should be kept to less than 9 hours a day, and numerous breaks (e g , every 50 minutes) in which sedentary time is replaced with light activity (e g , 5to 10-minute walking or stretch exercise) should be taken (3) Ideally, people should engage in different types of physical activity, including aerobic exercise, resistance training, stretching, and balance training (4) Finally, people should select types of exercise (e g , freehand exercise, equipment-assisted exercise, electronic exercise, or household work) that fit their interests and resources These suggestions provide guidance for strengthening individuals' mental and physical well-being through physical activity in response to the COVID-19 pandemic or future similar outbreaks (Taiwan J Public Health 2020;39(4):364-372)

  • Çukurova Üniversitesi Sosyal Bilimler Enstitüsü Dergisi
  • Gökhan Çobanoğullari

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the global economy, including in Türkiye. The tax accrual-collection rate is one area that has been impacted. The purpose of this study is to examine how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected Türkiye's tax accrual-collection rates at the provincial and regional levels. Data will be collected and analyzed to determine the extent to which the COVID-19 outbreak has affected the tax accrual and collection rate in Türkiye, as well as any potential mitigating factors or strategies that have been implemented to address the impact. In the study, accrual-collection rates in the pre-pandemic period and the post-pandemic period were compared at the provincial and regional levels. According to the findings, there have been serious decreases in tax collection in Türkiye after the pandemic process. At the regional level in 2020, the accrual/collection ratio decreased in all regions of Türkiye compared to the pre-pandemic period. At the provincial level, this rate has decreased in 51 of the 81 provinces. The basis of this decrease in tax revenues was the tax regulations implemented to eliminate the economic disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
