Use of an achromatic meniscus to compensate for astigmatism of the optical system

Abstract

In this paper, we present a procedure for calculating the initial configuration of one type of simple optical system consisting of an achromatic meniscus followed by an achromatic member in close proximity. The initial parameters for further optimisation are calculated using third-order aberration theory. The procedure is demonstrated by an example.
