Abstract

Kidney-specific antigens were detected in the urine of rats with glomerulone-phritis and pyelonephritis by Ouchterlony's double immunodiffusion test employing organ-specific anti-renal fraction sera. The antigens were demonstrated in the urine at different time intervals following induction of the diseases and at different frequencies in the individual animals. The described technique may be applied to the clinical evaluation of kidney disorders in which increased amounts of antigenic tissue constituents leak into the urine.
