Abstract

Over time, urbanization processes have undergone changes in their conceptions. Currently, the development model being promoted is based on the document called the New Urban Agenda, the result of the Habitat III Conference, which defines the importance of inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable cities. The question is how to apply these precepts in realities as authentic as the Amazon? It's not easy to find this answer, but it is possible to discuss possibilities. The aim of this article is therefore to analyze the Master Plan instrument as a way of applying the precepts listed in the New Urban Agenda. The methodology applied is based on the deductive method with qualitative research, the source of data being documentary and bibliographical research. At the end of this work, it will be verified to what extent the urban planning instrument Master Plan can be efficient in applying the New Urban Agenda in the Amazon.
