Abstract

The application of SSNTD technique to the determination of radioactive contaminants in different kinds of food can be very useful. In this work, we have analyzed different commercial brands of milk to determine the uranium content. CR-39 (Pershore Moulding Ltd) is used as a detector. Only chemical and electrochemical etching process after irradiation is required. The sensitivity and reproductibility is sufficient, for determination of the uranium contaminants, and this method can be used as regular procedure in the control of the drinkable commercial milk.
