Abstract
At the Speke factory of Glaxo Wellcome Operations near Liverpool, UK the company manufactures a range of oral liquids for prescription medicines. Purified water conforming to British and US Pharmacopoeia standards is needed both as a constituent of the final products and as rinse water. Every surface in contact with product must be rinsed with purified water, and the water is also required for cleaning-in-place procedures.
