Abstract
The L-band linac at the Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research (ISIR), Osaka University, has been renewed in order to realize highly stable operation and good reproducibility. The klystron system was replaced with a new one consisting of a 30 MW klystron and a new pulse modulator, which can provide two different pulse durations, flat top length of 4 or 8 us. The overall stability of the peak output voltage from the modulator is designed to be less than 0.3 % in peak-to-peak. The RF pulse length for sub-harmonic bunchers is increased to 100 us for making a flat top in the peak RF voltage. A cooling water system, temperature of which is controlled within ± 0.03 °C was introduced for the accelerating structures, and almost all the magnet power supplies were replaced with new ones. A control system based on personal computers and programmable logic controllers is newly installed. PACS codes: 29.17.+w; 41.75.Ht; 41.60.Cr; 84.40.Fe
