Introduction

Bacterial blight (BB) of rice caused by Xanthomonas oryzae pv. oryzae (Xoo) is one of the most serious production constraints of rice worldwide. Casiana Vera Cruz, from the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI), provided evidence that in addition to high temperatures, drought differently affects efficacy of Xa4 and Xa7.
