Abstract

To prove the effectiveness of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model, the authors are interested in conducting Classroom Action Research (PTK) entitled: Efforts to Improve Counting Ability through the Application of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) Learning Model and the Use of Visual Media in Class B Students PAUD Indralaya School of Nature, District of North Indralaya, Ogan Ilir Regency. This type of research is Classroom Action Research with the research model Suharsimi Arikunto namely with two cycles. The process in this study there are four stages in each cycle, namely action planning, action implementation, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this research were 8th grade students of PAUD North Indralaya Natural School, Ogan Ilir Regency, which consisted of 8 people consisting of 3 men and 5 women. Data collection techniques using observation and documentation. By applying the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model and the use of visual media can improve numeracy skills in B grade students of the North Indralaya Natural School, Ogan Ilir Regency. This is evident that the mastery learning of pre-action or pre-cycle students is still low, namely 2 students (25%) with an average student's numeracy ability of 60%. The results of students' numeracy skills in the first cycle after applying the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model and the use of Visual Media showed significant success with an average of 68.75% and student learning completeness reached 5 people (62.50%). Because in cycle I still had not reached the desired average value, cycle II was carried out. In this second cycle students' numeracy ability experienced a significant development that is with an average student score of 92.50% and for completeness of learning reached the overall student that is 100%.
