Abstract
The study discusses how the da’wah efforts in optimizing the religious consciousness of the elderly in Ar-Rahman nursing home Kamonji, West Palu District, Palu city.In this study, the researcher used a qualitative descriptive study. The approach in this study using normative approaches, sociological approach, psychological approach, and religious approach. Based on the results of the study, researcher found that the mission in Ar-Rahman nursing home has been implemented. Implementation of da’wah in this home can be classified into two parts, namely da’wah by non-verbal approach and da’wah activities by oral lecture approach. Da’wah by non-verbal approach is done with some activities such as the use of religious media nuanced picture taped to the walls of the room and some of the writings of the religious nuances. Then doing silatulrahim activity among elderly nursing home members of Ar-Rahman, both the sick and deceased members. Other non-verbal activity is recreation or natural tadabbur in certain places that was driven by Ar-Rahman nursing home. Religious development activities that are verbally committed in Ar-Rahman nursing home, includes lectures regularly in the form taklim, takziyah speeches, lectures to mark the holy days of Islam, and the qur’an and remembrance activities together. Optimization of religious consciousness for the elderly because of the opportunities are exploited in such a way as agencies that are legal entities, institutions have been known in the city of Palu, the consistency of coaching professional, has become a partner of the government, the venture capital support from the government, and the contribution of Palu society, as well as funds from the Ar-Rahman Foundation. While the obstacles encountered are insufficient infrastructure, inadequate number of budgets, and the absence of systematic da’wah prepared to provide direction on the implementation of da’wah, so overlapping da’wah material can be avoided in such a way.
