Abstract

Objective To investigate the correlations between Annexin Ⅱ protein expression level and gastric adenocarcinoma clinicopathological features. Methods Immunohistochemical staining was used to detect Annexin lⅡ protein expression in 44 cases of gastric adenocarcinoma tissues and their paired noncancerous gastric tissues, and 10 normal gastric tissues. The correlation between Annexin Ⅱ protein expression levels in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues and its clinicopathological features was analyzed. Results The protein positive expression rate of Annexin Ⅱ in gastric adenocarcinoma tissue (70.45%) was significantly higher than that in adjacent noncancerous gastric tissues (43.18%,P <0.05).Annexin Ⅱ protein was more strongly expressed on cellular membranes than in the cytoplasm of tumor cells in gastric adenocarcinoma tissues.Annexin Ⅱ protein expression rate in moderate-high differention gastric adenocarcinoma tissues (57.14%) was significantly lower than poor differention tissues (87.50%,P < 0.05).Conclusion The upregulated expression of Annexin Ⅱ protein may get involved in the tumorgenesis and malignant process, and may be helpful for diagnosis of gastric adenocarcinoma. Key words: Gastric adenocarcinoma; Annexin Ⅱ ; Protein expression
