Abstract

Cowper's bulbourethral glands are the elements of male genitourinary system. These glands are located between the two layers of the fascia of the urogenital diaphragm in the vicinity of bulb of the penis. Each gland produces a secretion that is found in ejaculate. The role of the Cowper's gland in uropathology and differential diagnostics is underestimated since the glands may be the cause of recurrent urinary tract infections, pelvic pain syndrome, dysuria, urinary incontinence or hematuria. Visualization of physiologic, not enlarged, small glands of 1cm in diameter has not yet been done by means of ultrasound.
