Abstract
The fabric of three ameliorated soils have been observed for several years. The results of the investigations of the soil samples by means fo thin-section as well as the profile in situ and the physical soil analysis in the laboratory are described. The three objects were: a field amelicrated by mole drainage, one by deep soil loosening and one by deep ploughing. The three fields are located on Vogelsberg, Hessen. The mole drainage with a clay content of 50% and a plasticity index more than 12, was succesful. The deep loosening of the soil gave doubtful results because it was much too hi in silt content. The soil of the deep ploughed field showed the beginning of a favourable development of the fabric since clay, organic substance and skeleton soil were well mixed.
