Abstract
Orthotropic materials are commonly used in modern technology. However, a rather limited amount of literature is available on the solution of thermal problems in orthotropic media. This paper presents an approximate solution for unsteady three-dimensional temperature distribution in an orthotropic hollow prism of arbitrary shape, obtained by means of the conformal mapping technique and a variational approach.
