Abstract

Abstract An analysis has been presented to investigate the transient mass transfer to a rotating disk in non-Newtonian power-law fluids. Consideration is given to the case of a step change in surface concentration. The transient mass flux and details of the concentration field are obtained and have been illustrated graphically. The range of Schmidt numbers investigated was 1 to 104 while the viscosity index was allowed to vary from 0.2 to 1.5.
