Abstract

An increasing number of business professionals – also known as corporate social intrapreneurs – are driving innovations within for-profit companies to align business and societal value creation. To date, however, research and teaching in business schools on this emerging phenomenon has been very limited. Unlocking the Potential of Corporate Social Intrapreneurship: A Call to Scholars explores ways to encourage business school faculty to do more research and teaching on this subject. It also discusses the parameters of corporate social intrapreneurship, suggests sample research questions, and identifies some examples of courses and research that could inform next steps. The report reflects insights from leading scholars with expertise in this domain who convened at the invitation of the Aspen Institute Business & Society Program and the Fetzer Institute in April 2019.
