Abstract
The school reform documents contain an injunction "to make radical improvements in the organization of labor education, training and occupational guidance in the general education school; to strengthen the polytechnical, practical bent of teaching; to widen significantly the training of skilled workers in the vocational-technical education system; to accomplish the transition to universal vocational education for young people." This imposes particular demands upon the labor training that is given to schoolchildren: it should be structured on a polytechnical foundation and culminate in the mastery of rudimentary occupational expertise.
