Abstract
The slow dynamics of a single particle in different fragile systems near the glass transition is analyzed from a unified point of view based on the mean‐field theory (MFT) recently proposed by the present author. It is shown that the experimental data and the simulation results for the mean‐square displacement are collapsed into a master curve given by MFT if a reduced long‐time self‐diffusion coefficient (or a universal parameter) in different systems has the same value. It is also shown that the long‐time self‐diffusion coefficient for any systems is well described by a non‐singular function predicted by MFT. The solutions of the mode‐coupling equations are also analyzed by MFT and are shown to disagree with the simulation results from a new viewpoint.
