Co., through its subsidiaries, United National Bank and United Bank, engages primarily in community banking and mortgage banking and additionally offers most types of business permitted by law and regulation. Included among the banking services offered are the acceptance of deposits in checking, savings, and money market accounts; the making of personal and student loans; and the making of real estate loans. Co. also owns nonbank subsidiaries that engage in mortgage banking and asset management. As of Dec 31 2003, Co. operated 91 offices in West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Ohio, and Washington.
