Abstract
It is necessary to introduce a large amount of renewable energy to realize a carbon-neutral society. However, renewable energy is naturally derived energy, so its output is uncertain so it is necessary to improve the flexibility of electric power to introduce it into the existing system. One of methods to make the best use of the existing system is NTO (Network Topology Optimization), which has been verified. However, there is no verification of NTO considering the flexibility that is important for eliminating the prediction error of renewable energy. Moreover, there is a concern that the life of the switch will be shortened if it is performed every hour by the NTO. Therefore, in this paper we verify the improved NTO-UC (NTO-Unit Commit) that reduces the frequency of network topology switching in the system considering the flexibility. NTO-UC is a model that proposes an hourly generator start / stop operation plan and network topology from the demand forecast and photovoltaic (PV) output forecast of the intraday, and has been verified using the modified IEEE 14 bus test system. As a result of the verification, it was confirmed that the efficacy of NTO-UC was confirmed in the scenario considering the flexibility and that the improved NTO-UC reduced the number of the transmission line switching.
