Abstract

R J Knops and L E Payne Berlin: Springer 1971 pp ix + 130 price £4.40 This book is a well written, comprehensive account of the theory of uniqueness in linear elasticity, the major part of it being concerned with theorems proved within the last fifteen years. Starting from the results of Kirchhoff and Neumann on the uniqueness of the static and dynamic classical mixed boundary value problems, the authors present a detailed account of results generalizing these two theorems.
