Unique Collaboration Between Cardiology and Intensive Care for Mechanical Support Initiation With ECMO: Single Australian Network Experience

Abstract

Extra-corporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) is a useful therapeutic option in AMI with shock and cardiac arrest. We describe the early outcomes of a collaboration between interventional cardiology and ICU in a non-surgical centre in Melbourne for ECMO initiation prior to transfer to a transplant centre.
