Abstract

Because of revisions in Statutes and By‐Laws effective July 31, 1945, the following have been added as members of the Executive Committee: W. C. Lowdermilk, past President of the Union; past Presidents of Sections—L. II. Adams [already a member], (Tectonophysics), A. F. Buddington (Volcanology), A. E. Eckhardt (Terrestrial Magnetism and Electricity), N. C. Grover (Hydrology), H. E. McComb (Seismology), C. W. Thornthwaite (Meteorology), P. C. Whitney (Oceanography), R. M. Wilson (Geodesy); Secretaries of Sections—K. H. Beij (Hydrology), L. P. Disney (Oceanography), J. A, Duerksen (Geodesy), II. D. Harradon [already a member], (Meteorology), M. K. Hubbert (Tectonophysics), David G. Knapp (Terrestrial Magnetism and Electricity), Leonard M. Murphy (Seismology), F. G. Wells (Volcanology); Committees—H. F. Johnston, because of protracted illness, resigned as Chairman of the Standing Committee on Membership and G. W. Musgrave was appointed in his place November 26, 1945, and R. II. Weightman, Chairman of the Standing Committee on Nominations; Executive Secretary of the Union, Waldo E. Smith, The late W. B, Cannon's successor as Chairman of the Division of Foreign Relations of the National Research Council, Detlev W. Bronk, is now ex‐officio member of the Executive Committee, N. H. Heck, because of ill health resigned as President of the International Association of Seismology and is thus, after many long years of service, no longer a member of the Executive Committee.
