Abstract

This is a detailed review of five books by Mrs. von Mitterwallner and MM. Mukherjee, Rtveladze-Pidaev, Zejmal and Gobi on Yuëh-chih and Kushan coins. These last two books, especially Gobi's one, are to be deemed a landmark in Kushan numismatics and history. The reviewer dwells with a special emphasis on Yiieh-chih and Heraos coinages, Huviska and Vâsudeva's bronze coins, early Kushan chronology, Roman influence on Kushan minting and the so-called Kushan Pantheon.
