Abstract

This study investigated the relationship between Ceremonial Activities and Organizational Identification among librarians in a university library and the associated influencing factors in China. Data were gathered through interviews, and 30 librarians in Chinese university libraries were selected as participants for in-depth interviews to identify the role of ceremonial activities and the organizational identification of university libraries. The study findings contribute to a conceptual framework for understanding the relationship between ceremonial activities and organizational identification among librarians in a university library and reveal three main factors of ceremonial activities that influenced librarians' organizational identification of Chinese University Libraries: Symbols of ceremonial activities–self-identification, landscape of ceremonial activities–Library Identification, Procedure of ceremonial activities–Value Identification. These results provide valuable insights for research on the management of ceremonial library activities.
