Abstract
Radio Frequency Identification technology is a technology which uses radio waves to automatically identify people or objects. This technology is not a novel technology and it has existed in various forms in last few decades. In current business world this technology is dramatically increasing wireless technology that use in many areas such as healthcare, transport, military, textile, and agriculture. Unlike barcode systems, RFID systems reflect better result in industrial applications like baggage tracking, access/vehicle control, animal tracking, etc. This technology has a vast impact on the society, by becoming it more familiar with people’s daily lives and mobile devises are becoming the universal interface to the online services. Apart from traditional usage of RFID technology, another innovative research path of RFID is integrating RFID technology with mobile devises such as mobile phones and PDAs. This paper summarizes the RFID technology, current application and its integration with mobile devices.
