Abstract
Collaborative care implies a clear conceptualization of one's own role and that of health professionals from other disciplines to foster harmonious interdisciplinary team working. This paper argues that distorted professional images need to be challenged and seeks to provide an insight into nursing roles, as a mechanism to promote more effective collaborative care.
