Abstract

Lasers are an emerging and revolutionary technology with several advantages for general dental practitioners, patients, and several applications in dentistry. Based on current scientific discoveries and technical improvements, it has an excellent benefit to the modern medical profession and also Laser light may be employed efficiently in clinical dentistry. Although there is an absence of clear evidence in particular fields of dentistry, lasers are effective as clinical tools in a number of clinical conditions in dentistry based on proper laser tissue communication and the problems of everyday practice. The book gives brief information about the history, physics, mechanism, tissue interaction, classification and application of laser in the field of oral medicine for improving the patient satisfaction and for better understanding of this novel technology. It is promising and offers great scope in the field of oral medicine in the coming years. We assure that this book will be useful for enlightened readers and for all oral health care providers.
