Abstract

The paper considers and analyzes approaches to the phenomenon of uncertainty. The types of uncertainties, factors influencing the commander's decision-making in conditions of uncertainty are determined. It was found in which areas of the psyche the commanders find it most difficult to make decisions in a combat situation and in a situation of uncertainty. The level of the commanders' tolerance to uncertainty when making decisions was investigated. The generalization of the results of the empirical study made it possible to establish the factors influencing the formation of intolerance to uncertainty in officers when making decisions in conditions of uncertainty according to individual scales (novelty of the problem, complexity of the problem, unsolved problem). It has been proven that a long-term situation of uncertainty during a fight can be one of the factors in the development of PTSD.
